This policy applies to the Online Interfaces (App, website/“Site”) owned or operated by OJ Electronics, and information collected, used, and disclosed in connection with OJ Electronics’ thermostat products and application software relating to the same. However, this policy does not apply to any website that may be linked to OJ Electronics or that may be accessed through its ”Online Interfaces”. Please refer to the privacy policy provided by these individual websites for information about the information they may collect and how that information may be used.


By making any use of any of the websites or any products or services, or by downloading, installing or making any use of the application software associated with OJ Electronics’ thermostat products, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as contemplated by this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect


Information provided by you. For making use of your thermostat, you will be required to create an account. When you do so, we will ask you for your email address and postal code. Additionally, you may provide us with your name and address, but this information is optional.


Information we obtain from your use of our services. We automatically collect temperature and energy consumption data at the location where you are using a thermostat connected to our services. We may also collect thermostat specific information such as device number, model number, software version, location information (such as city, state, and zip code) where the thermostat is installed, device setting information, and/or information about the network connection that your thermostat uses to connect to our services.


We also use cookies when you access our ”Online Interfaces” through an internet browser or application on a computer or mobile device. Cookies identify your browser, but not you, to our servers when you visit our ”Online Interfaces”.

OJ Electronics’ Cookie Policy is incorporated by reference into this Privacy Policy. For information about how we use cookies, please review our Cookies Policy.


Consent to Processing and Transfers of Information. The information used to make the ”Online Interface” available and that stores information collected in conjunction with this Privacy Policy and OJ Electronics’ Cookies Policy may be hosted in the United States.

Therefore, your information, including any personal information provided by the ”Online Interface” may be transferred to and/or processed and stored in the United States. The laws of the United States may not provide the same level of protection as the country from which you access the ”Online Interface”. As a result, United States’ federal and state governments, courts, or law enforcement or regulatory agencies may be able to obtain disclosure of your information through applicable laws. How We Use The Information We Collect From You


We use the information we collect from you with the following purposes


  1. Administer and operate the ”Online Interface” and deliver and enable your use of services in connection with your OJ Electronics’ thermostat product;

  2. Personalize the ”Online Interface”, the Software and/or the services made available through the same;

  3. Register your OJ Electronics’ thermostat products with us;

  4. Register, administer and operate your account in association with any of the ”Online Interface” and/or Software;

  5. Develop modifications to, improvements to and/or new versions of our Products, Software, ”Online Interface”, and services available through the same; and

  6. Deal with and administer inquiries, complaints, submissions and feedback relating to the ”Online Interface” and/or Software.


    Additionally, we may use this information to provide you information about your use of our services and respond to communications received from you.


    You acknowledge that we may engage third parties to perform some or all of the functions specified in this Privacy Policy, and may disclose personal information to our employees, officers, insurers, professional advisors, agents, suppliers or subcontractors, to the extent that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.


    Any personal information provided by you, or that is derived automatically by or through any ”Online Interface” and/or the Software, is not sold, rented, or shared by us with any third party without your consent, except in the circumstances described in this Privacy Policy.

    We will take reasonable technical and organizational security measures, including the use of firewalls and anti-virus software, amongst others, to prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of your personal information. Unfortunately, such security measures cannot prevent all loss, misuse, or alteration of your personal information. Therefore, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any such information, and we are not responsible for any damages or liabilities relating to any such incidents to the fullest extent permitted by law.

    Minor Children. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. Rather, we offer our services and ”Online Interface” for use by adults. If you are under the age of 18, no information should be submitted through our ”Online Interface” without your parents’ or guardians’ consent.


    Your Choices Regarding Your Personal Information. You may choose what, if any, personal information you provide to us. However, if you choose not to provide certain information, such as your email address, we cannot create an account for you and some of your experiences with our services may be affected. If you would like to make changes to personal information, we have collected from you, you can contact us as indicated below in the “Questions About Our Policy” section, or by updating your personal information through your account.


    Changes To Our Policy. We reserve the right to at our sole discretion update, revise, supplement, replace, and/or otherwise modify the terms of this Privacy Policy and/or impose new or additional rules, policies, terms, or conditions on you from time to time and at any time without specific notice to you.     In addition to the above, OJ Electronics A/S, Stenager 13B DK-6400 Sønderborg, Denmark will also collect and process your personal data for the statistical purposes regarding the distribution of our products and which services our customers use. We do this based on our legitimate interest in gaining a better understanding of our customers’ needs and to improve our products and services.

Confidentiality and information about the processing of your personal data. All data will be treated as confidential information by those who are allowed to process the data and will only be used for the purposes as set out above.


Your personal data will be stored by OJ Electronics A/S’ group entity in the USA and may be accessed by OJ Electronics A/S in Denmark on a need-to-know basis. OJ Electronics A/S will keep your personal data for up to 24 months after end of last use of the system, unless OJ Electronics A/S is required under applicable law to keep your personal data for a longer period of time.


Your rights. You can obtain further information on the personal data which OJ Electronics A/S stores and processes about you by contacting privacy@ojelectronics.com. Further, you may object to your personal data being processed or request that your personal data is rectified. If you wish to object to your personal data being processed, have your data rectified or restrict the processing, please contact privacy@ojelectronics.com with this message.
